Winter is an especially challenging time for skin care. That’s why we’ve featured winter skin care tips on our blog before.

However, we’re always happy to feature more of them, especially when they’re new. And the Daily Record recently carried a list of rather interesting tips.

For example, did you know that you should avoid long, hot showers in the winter? According to the article, skin therapist Nataliya Robinson has warned that luxurious showers strip your skin of protective oils that keep moisture locked inside.

Dermatologists also suggested paying special attention to your eyes simply because the skin around our eyes is fine and sensitive. A rich cream eye gel can help you prevent crow’s feet.

Other tips included going easy on the exfoliant and taking the time to wrap up during the winter. Grab a scarf to protect your skin.

People often portray a good skin care routine as something that is time consuming and complicated. Isn’t it interesting that most really effective skin care techniques are simple? It’s just a matter of building good habits and understand the effects that certain activities have on our skin. Washing and moisturizing are both really fast activities, as is adding a dash of sun screen to one’s face before popping out of the door. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to choose the right moisturizer.

Do you have skin care tips to share? We’d love to hear about them in the comments below. Winter, spring, summer or fall, every season has its challenges and puts its strains on the skin!
